Broni,I did not know where to post this and I dont even know if you can help me with this but.
My forum is on a hosted community with IPB 40 plus
yesterday i received an email stating they will be doing a migrating of all the shared servers hosted communities, with that they mention a bunch of hooks and mods that will be prohibited.

What will I be left with? A Chat that works effectively 60% of the time?!
I paid for many hooks and now they are not going to honor hosting them?
Broni, what are my options? I have a standard license should I look into a new host? can you recommend some well known host? I rather not move it but if I cant run hooks that in my opinion should be part of the OEM software than I will have to consider a move.

We're in very same situation here.
There is actually a topic at IPS forum regarding the above email: http://community.inv...ril-fools-joke/
You may want to voice your opinion there.
Personally I'll do nothing for now.
I'll wait until I receive some formal note from IPS.
I think a lot depends on the above discussion.
Some people are getting really mad.
Maybe IPS will reconsider.

I did voice my opinion there, Joe D.
This is there job and seems they dont want to so it. I have a nice arcade as well and I use all of it as tools to "keep" members at my site. My members rarely use chat love the shout box.
I hope they reconsider this as we all know its NOT shout box that takes out severs.... it is them cramming as any communities on one server as the possible can $$$$$
I rather stay and let them do it all but

Based on feedback and new technologies being brought to our attention, we are doing our best to reach a happy medium. We're exploring a couple of different options that could allow restricted apps while still maintaining fair use for all clients. This would likely be accomplished by overall resource monitoring that would would stop a runaway modification or app from causing a complete outage.
We're testing this now and hope to have more to report soon. We are doing what we can to strike a reasonable compromise -- protecting the interest of all clients, while minimizing inconvenience.
