Perhaps anyone using the downloader can help me out here.  I downloaded a movie which had the english subtitles plainly visible when "playing" on the website, but now that I try to watch it on my download, there are NO subtitles shown.  And I cannot find any folder containing them on my hard drive.  Any thoughts or help on this?

What player do you use to play that movie?

I like using either Windows Media Player and VLC Player.  I would call it a 50-50 equation.  With Windows 10 I could also use "Movies & TV".  In this instance, I tried all three......and no subtitles show on either one.

In VLC did you try to click on "Subtitle" (upper menu) and see if anything is listed under "Sub track"?

If nothing there can you provide link to that video?

There are two options:  1)add subtitle file (which is clickable) and 2) sub track, which is grayed out.  I have no subtitle file.

Here is the link to the movie (BTW, a great, old classic which is my reason for downloading)

Broni, thank you....I must log out for now, but will check back in some time tomorrow.  Have a good evening.

As far as I can see those subs are provided through CC feature.

I suspect that they're provided by the website not the movie itself.

Your best option would be to download subs from here: http://subsmax.com/subtitles-movie/babettes-feast/4723128

Put srt file into same folder as your movie and VLC should be able to pick it up or you can point VLC to srt file manually.

Did it work?

Yes, it's working great!  Although I did have to use your second suggestion and pointed VLC to the srt file manually.  I tried putting it in the same folder with the movie but, for some reason, it didn't work.  All's well that works well, though, and I'm very thankful.  Thanks again Broni.

Next time rename srt file to the same name as the movie is and VLC should pick it up.

For instance:

Thisissomemovie.avi

Thisissomemovie.srt
